About Wizard Sound
At Wizard SounDesign our specialty is repair and maintenance of professional audio equipment and sound systems. However, we have always taken pride in fixed and portable sound system design, fabrication, installation, and upgrade integration of new and existing sound systems.
Our bench services include active and passive speaker systems, commercial duty professional amplifiers, portable mixers, powered mixers, studio consoles, analog tape decks (from cassette to 2" open reel multi-track decks including broadcast cart machines), some brands of DAT decks, broadcast quality turntables, processing components, equalizers, compressors, limiters, and other various types of commercial audio equipment. Many portable sound system users, including DJ's, auctioneers, seminar presenters, and local bands, choose Wizard SounDesign for their maintenance, upgrades and new component integration for their sound systems. Not many projects are too large or too small for our top-notch attention.
In addition to our in-shop services we can also provide acoustic environment testing, system design and engineering, meticulous project installation, upgrades and maintenance on fixed-location sound systems and audio production facilities. Our clients are churches, schools, municipalities, corporations and contractors who need quality and longevity of their installed sound for their background music/paging systems, auditoriums, skating rinks, car lots, restaurants, media rooms, dance studios, sports facilities -- virtually anywhere you need sound.
Sound System Design As the name implies, Wizard SounDesign has its roots in sound system fabrication and design. Our early work mostly encompassed portable systems that had to be built for rough handling and a variety of environmental challenges. These early systems were what we cut our teeth on and led the company into many other types of sound system projects. We currently provide design, installation and component integration services for fixed as well as portable sound systems. Our client list is quite extensive ranging from the neighborhood basement band, to your local church, some auditoriums, or sports fields, restaurants, and mostly everything in between as well. Anywhere sound needs to be clean and intelligible. Feel free to call for a consultation, estimate, advise, or just to chat about your sound system. |
Bench Servicing -- It's our Speciality! With 40 years of both analog and digital circuit analysis and repair, a master technician will first diagnosis your component and then contact you for approval on any needed servicing before proceeding. Repair estimates are charged on a component-type basis. See the "bench Service Pricing" in the menu at the left. Our State-of-the-Art diagnostic equipment makes determining any deviation from the original manufacture's specifications quick and accurate. There are no surprises. All final invoices will be within 10% of the original estimate unless prior authorization is obtained from you. In this world of "throw-away" equipment, we will honestly advise you when it would be better to replace a component rather than invest in repairing it. |
Amplifier Maintenance and Repair From time to time even commercial duty and other professionally used amplifiers may need maintenance. Higher power units in particular sometimes move air for cooling. These amplifiers need to be periodically cleaned, spec checked, and have their filters refreshed. Without regular servicing, these units will have a shorter than normal service life. Just like your auto mechanic says, "pay me for minor service now, or pay me a lot more later". The choice of contractors, installers and audio professionals in Northeast Ohio is Wizard Sound for the most comprehensive maintenance and repairs on their valuable sound equipment. |
Analog Tape Deck Servicing Our tape deck servicing includes mostly rack mountable versions of professional and broadcast quality decks including cassette and some commercial cassette duplicators, 1/4 inch broadcast cartridge machines, open reel recorders from 1/4' full track through 1/2 inch 8-track formats, some 1-inch and 2-inch multi-track recorders and specialty tape formats like the Panasonic Elcaset and more. For complete details or if you have a question about your tape deck servicing needs contact our tape specialist. |
Experienced Equipment -- Coming soon... Experienced equipment is "used equipment" that has been in service for some length of time performing as designed without any problems. Some of these units have been in operation for many years, whereas others may have been replaced simply to make room for upgrades. All our "experienced equipment" has been thoroughly tested for assurance that it meets the original equipment manufactures specifications and comes with a 90 day limited guarantee. Click the "Experienced Equipment" button in the upper left menu to see a list of available commercial and consumer components. |
Scrap Chasis -- Coming soon... Servicing audio equipment for over 35 years has left us with many pieces of gear that were either not economical to repair or simply not picked after the owner was notified. These unclaimed components are placed into storage and after a reasonable period of time, we offer them up for sale. Some are in perfect working condition, whereas others may be scrap only. In any event, we have found that someone might just be looking for an obsolete hardware item like a knob, dial glass, or some other no longer available part. This is your chance to search this treasure trove for that rare part you need to finish that precious equipment restoration. |
